A Bathroom Created for Wilma and Matt

For Wilma and Matt, this bathroom is not just a functional space but a reflection of their journey and their desire for a sanctuary of tranquility. Finding Light was born from the search for a place where the day begins gently and ends in an embrace of serenity. More than just a renovation, this transformation revealed a sanctuary where light not only illuminates but also guides, embraces, and inspires.

Light as the Essential Element

Light is life, energy, the invisible thread connecting every detail of this bathroom. Natural lighting was maximized to dance softly across surfaces, creating a play of shadows and reflections that changes throughout the day. The transition between the two zones of the bathroom—one dedicated to daily care and the other to deep relaxation—was designed to follow this luminous flow, allowing each moment to be bathed in the perfect atmosphere.

In the daily care area, light plays a functional and vibrant role, highlighting the details of the wooden furniture and ensuring clarity for morning rituals. In the bathing retreat, the lighting softens, enveloping the space in a diffuse, almost ethereal aura, where each beam invites rest and contemplation.

The Harmony of the Four Elements

With light as a guide, the materials were chosen to reinforce the connection with the four elements of nature.

The Earth element manifests in the large-format sand-toned porcelain tile, creating a solid and serene foundation. Silestone® Desert Silver Suede quartz adds durability and a smooth texture, anchoring the space with balance and security.

Water flows through the careful selection of a deep soaking tub and an immersive shower, encouraging time to slow down and each drop to become an invitation to relaxation. Chrome fixtures reflect the subtle glimmers of the surroundings, echoing water’s fluidity and purity.

Air reveals itself in the suspended lighting panel above the bathtub, a celestial touch that evokes the vastness of the sky. Its delicate glow seems to dissolve the boundaries of the space, amplifying the feeling of lightness and freedom.

Fire manifests in the warmth of natural wood and in the vibrant energy that light impresses upon every detail. This balance between shadow and illumination transforms the bathroom into a refuge where the energy of life pulses in a soft and steady rhythm.

This bathroom was not only created for Wilma and Matt but also for their grandson—a place where he can play, learn, and listen to stories under the welcoming light of the morning or the gentle tranquility of dusk. Every choice was made to turn this space into a place of cherished memories, where time slows down and the connection between generations strengthens.
